This man is Tuareg, a people group found mostly in desert regions of Mali, Niger, and Burkina Faso. I took his portrait in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.
The Tuareg are a nomadic people; they used to be called the “Lords of the Sahara” and their roots are traced back to Berbers of North Africa.
What is baffling to me is that according the International Mission Board’s data, of the 1.1 million Tuareg there are only an estimate 85 believers. Let me spell that out: 85 out of 1,160,000. That is 0.00007328%
