One of our language learning activities is to develop & share a very simple version of our testimony in Mampruli. Here is Heidi’s with a literal English translation above each line.
I was a girl, I had fear.
Man daa nyɛ bipuŋŋa, n-daa mari dabeem.
I had not heart rest (peace).
N-daa ka sufu doaa.
Someone told me about Jesus’s [true] story.
Sɔa daa yɛli ma zaŋŋi n-kyaŋŋi Yisa lahabaari.
I understood, that, God loves me much.
N daa baŋŋi ya, ni, Naawunni daa wuri ma paam.
And He took His own only son to give.
Ka U zaŋŋi U toori bigaŋŋa n-tihina.
His name was Jesus.
U yuuri daa nyɛ la Yisa.
I understand, that, Jesus has power and conquers death and forgives my offences.
N baŋŋi ni, ni, Yisa mari yaa ka nyaŋŋi kum ka kyɛ n taalli m-pɛŋŋma.
He gave life and heart rest.
U daa tima nyɔvori ni sufu doaa.
Thus reason I learn His many promises in the Bible.
Lala zugu n bamsi U alakooli pam litaafi ni.
I am able to talk to God.
N nin toaai n-tɔ’asi nti Naawunni.
Therefore I have not fear again.
Dinzugu n ka dabeem yassa.
