Through generous donations via the IMB, I was able to buy 30 new hospital beds for BMC. It took several months to coordinate the purchase, the shipping & delivery and assembly of the beds. In fact, I did all the assembly myself during my free time on weekends.
The hospital has been building new wards over the last couple years and they will need new beds. That was the initial motivation for the purchase of the beds but after meeting with the hospital matron we realized what dire shape the existing beds in the old wards were in (and the new wards’ completion keeps getting delayed). We instead decided to replace the old ones with these.
We’re grateful for the donors who made this possible and for the IMB giving us the freedom to use funds to meet needs at the hospital.
