After our retreat we took a few days of vacation to do some shopping in Johannesburg and get a real safari in. West Africa isn’t exactly known for its safaris and big game wildlife so we have never been on safari.
Since you aren’t guaranteed to see lions in the wild when on safari, we decided to swing by the Joburg Lion Park with some friends. There we got to see lions, cheetahs, wild dogs, giraffes, ostriches, zebras, and many various antelopes.
The highlight for Trey was getting to pet real lion cubs. When the cubs are between 3-6 months, old people are allowed to interact with them. He also tried to feed a giraffe from his mouth but chickened out when its giant slimy tongue started to get near his face (kind of like this).
