There are several things you can do to support evangelism, discipleship and humanitarian work in Ghana’s North East Region:
Give to the Cooperative Program & IMB’s LMCO

As commissioned missionaries of the International Mission Board, our salary, housing, transportation, healthcare and retirement are 100% provided by the generous giving of Southern Baptists. Through the Cooperative Program when you put a dollar in the offering place of any Southern Baptist Church, a portion of that goes to international missions through the IMB. In addition, 100% of all funds collected for the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering go directly to missionaries on the field (that offering accounts for 59% of the IMB’s budget!).
Medsend
Our family would not be able to serve overseas at this time were it not for the support of MedSend. This organization provides grants enabling Christian Healthcare professionals to bring compassionate care to people in need around the world. While we strived to be good stewards and minimize our debt during Heidi’s medical training, we were still left with $100K in loans. MedSend makes those medical school loan payments for us while we are serving on the mission field. Visit their website at www.medsend.org to find out more about their ministry.

The George Faile Foundation
The George Faile Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to supplementing the Baptist Medical Center in Nalerigu, Ghana’s budget, gathering equipment and materials, and encouraging volunteers to come to the hospital and offer their services. One of their most important ministries is providing scholarships to medical students and residents so that they can volunteer in Nalerigu and work with Heidi. This gives Heidi an opportunity to mentor young & aspiring physicians as well as provides her with some relief from the intense workload. You can find out more about the Foundation’s ministry by visiting their website at www.failefoundation.org.
Tell Others
Tell your friends, family, and church family about our ministry and this website. We hope this digital archive of journals, photos, and videos that we post while on the field inspiration to them in their spiritual walk and help them to learn about and love West Africa as much as we do.
Pray
- Pray that we may be bold witnesses for Christ as we work among the peoples of Ghana’s Northern Region.
- Pray for the Mamprusi people of Ghana. They live in a very harsh environment with rampant poverty and sickness. Most follow traditional religion and Islam and need an opportunity to hear and respond to the Good News about Jesus Christ.
- Pray for our health and safety on a regular basis. We live in a more remote part of the country and due to the nature of our work we are exposed to illness more often than most.
- Pray for our children’s education. They are both homeschooled by William with a US-based curriculum. Pray that we may have the wisdom to train them up in the way they should go.
There are hundreds of other missionaries in Sub-Saharan Africa that need your prayers. You can find current prayer requests from the region on the IMB’s prayer request webpage.
