Heidi took a well-deserved break one afternoon this week and we drove north-east with Elizabeth Faile to visit the escarpment near Nakpanduri. The escarpment is a long ridge that stretches west to east and on into Togo. Dr. Faile used to hike and camp here when he was a kid growing up in Nalerigu. Back in the day you could see herds of elephants grazing down below the cliffs.
As I posted a couple days ago, our view was quite obstructed by the harmattan dust and smoke in the air. Also, between the dust and all the dry particles from the grass we were hiking through my allergies went haywire. Nonetheless, it was a fun excursion and an amazing place to visit.
