Sometimes you take a photo of a particular subject and realize that what you originally thought was worthy of being photographed has been trumped by something in the background.
This first image was taken because the boys on the river bank were interesting – especially with the guy shooting his slingshot. Only after I got home did I realize that the really interesting subject was the guy with the sheep between his legs in the background.
This second photo was taken with Kerry Spencer’s camera. He was driving and saw a truck with chickens hanging on the side. He tossed me his camera and I snapped it as we passed them. Again, after the fact we saw the real genius of the image. Not the chickens, but the little kids behind the chickens peering out at us.
