30+ years ago the original bridge collapsed and a temporary bailey bridge was installed. That “temporary” bridge became permanent and has finally collapsed last week under the weight of one of the many dump trucks hauling dirt into town for construction. The government has promised to expedite the construction of a new permanent bridge. However, it’s the middle of rainy season so I’m not getting my hopes up. My guess is we’ll get it early next year during the dry season.
