On a recent trip to Nakpanduri we took a detour to check out a lookout a German friend had visited years ago. I guessed its general area and used Google Maps satellite view to find a route via the farm paths.
We eventually had to park the truck and after hiking about 15 minutes we came to the edge of the cliffs and boy did it deliver!
A raging wildfire was blazing below sending billowing smoke up to us and obscuring the sun. One spot on the rocky escarpment had a massive rock jutting out dramatically over a terrifying void. It was AWESOME.
Hiking through burnt brush Almost looks like winter frost! A massive wildfire rages below

Our plan is to return after Christmas and give ourselves plenty of time to explore the area. Perhaps we’ll even have a picnic!
