Last week I visited the Northern Ghana Baptist Theological Seminary in Tamale, a large town southwest of Nalerigu. IMB missionaries Pat and Peggy Ozment have been there for 11 months with Pat serving as a lecturer and Peggy as librarian.
I was quite impressed to see how this 60+ year old man handled the heat. Not just the 100 degree heat from the weather (and lack of electricity) but from the hot seat he was in answering students’ questions. Here’s one you don’t often hear asked by seminary students in the US – “If a man has a second wife from before he was a Christian, can he take the Lord’s Supper?” There’s no easy “Yes” or “No” answer to that.
Pat is a great teacher who uses both Scripture and his personal experiences to bring topics to light. Peggy has done an amazing job renovating and re-organizing the seminary’s once defunct library into an amazing resource for these budding young pastors.
I’ll be posting an audio interview I recorded with Peggy sometime next week.
