I’m been playing around more with flash photography and have gotten some interesting results by bouncing the flash off of different walls and angled surfaces. This image was taken in a poorly lit room and I bounced the flash off a side wall at about a 45 degree angle. That way the subject was evenly […]

I took this image of the boy in the same village as the elderly lady whose photo I posted yesterday. I really like the contrast between the two faces. I also like how if you zoom in REAL close you can see my silhouette in his eye. That is when those 10 megapixels start paying […]

I was in a village yesterday with the Robertsons where they were doing Bible Storying. The people there were very excited that I was taking their pictures and I got several portrait shots. This is one of my favorites of the batch. The elderly in the villages have such compelling faces – you can see […]

This kid was a student at the school run by Sankor Baptist Church in Wineba, Ghana. I took several shots of kids at the school with the chalk board as back drops. Some of the chalk boards had some great stuff written on them. One had an explanation of why germs were bad. Another had […]

She worked at the Happy Child Learning Center most of the time but also spent some time at St. Patrick’s School, another primary school in town. This photo was taken at the […]

I was shocked at the clarity and sharpness of this image when I got home and looked at it in full size – made me very happy!

I’ve taken many extreme closeups of procedures – but since most involve open wounds, blood, and body parts I’ve refrained from posting them on the site (not everyone can stomach the sight of an open […]

I’ll let Heidi explain what she was doing in this photo in a later post. It involved giving a man an injection in his spine to anesthetize him for a hernia operation. To me the important thing was that I liked the lighting and those green latex gloves she had on.

I went to a river baptism today and the sun was scorching. The beads of sweat on this girl’s face are a great visual testament to the heat. This is one of those photos you have to see at full size (1o megapixels).
